This notice sets out how stay.cx ranks properties and how we deal with suppliers. It supplements the distribution or partner agreement signed between stay.cx and each supplier. Where this notice and a signed agreement differ on a commercial matter, the signed agreement governs. This notice governs the ranking and transparency matters described below.
How we rank properties
When a guest searches, properties matching their criteria are ordered by a weighted score built from four parameters: availability for the guest’s selected dates; rating quality, being the review score adjusted for the number of reviews; geographic relevance to the searched destination or map area; and price competitiveness relative to other properties in the same result set.
Availability carries the greatest weight. Rating quality and geographic relevance carry equal weight to each other and rank next. Price competitiveness carries the least weight of the four. A property unavailable for the requested dates is excluded from results unless the guest has chosen to include unavailable properties. Where scores are equal we rank by rating, then review count, then a stable property identifier.
Commission does not affect ranking
Commission is not a ranking parameter. Suppliers cannot pay for position, and we do not operate paid placement, sponsored listings or auction-based prominence. Booking velocity, click-through rate and listing recency are not live ranking factors either. If we introduce any form of paid placement in future, it will be labelled as such, kept separate from organic results, and notified to suppliers in advance under the notice period below.
Changes to this notice
We will give suppliers at least 15 days’ notice before any change to this notice takes effect, including any change to the ranking parameters above. Where a change requires a supplier to make significant technical adjustments, we will give proportionately longer notice.
Restriction, suspension and delisting
If we restrict, suspend or delist a supplier’s properties, we will give a statement of reasons. For termination of the relationship we will give at least 30 days’ notice, unless we are subject to a legal obligation preventing this or the supplier has repeatedly breached the applicable terms.
Data available to suppliers
Suppliers can access booking records relating to their own properties, including guest booking details necessary to fulfil the stay, the commission applied, and cancellation status. Suppliers do not receive data relating to other suppliers’ properties or aggregated platform performance data.
Raising an issue
Suppliers should raise any issue with their usual stay.cx contact in the first instance, or by email to suppliers@stay.cx. We aim to acknowledge within five working days.
